The adhesive used in the process is formulated to be safe for use around the eyes. I personally use hypoallergenic glue on my clients to avoid any sensitivities or allergies you may have.

It is crucial to follow aftercare instructions to maintain the health and safety of your natural lashes and extensions. If you experience any adverse reactions, such as redness, itching, or irritation, please contact me immediately to resolve the issue.

Overall, when applied and cared for correctly, eyelash extensions can be a safe and beautiful way to enhance your natural lashes.

  • The short answer is no. Eyelash extension are safe and pain-free when they are applied by a trained and experienced lash artist.

  • The longevity of eyelash extensions varies based on factors such as your natural lash growth cycle, type of lifestyle, and practicing proper aftercare.
As your natural lashes shed, the extensions will naturally fall out with them. To consistently maintain a full look, it is recommended to regularly schedule fill appointments every 2-3 weeks and practice proper aftercare including washing your eyelashes every day, avoiding oil-based products, and excessive moisture. Eyelash extensions will naturally last longer without the use of eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara.

  • The application process depends on several factors, including the client’s natural lashes and the desired lash look. A full set of eyelash extensions will take anywhere from 1.5-3 hours.

-Classic lashes: A Full set of classic lashes, where one extension is applied to each natural lash, typically takes around 1.5-2 hours. Fills take around 1 hour.

-Hybrid Lashes: A full set of hybrid lashes, where a 50/50 mix of classic and volume lashes are applied to each natural lash, typically takes around 2-2.5 hours. Fills take around 1.5 hours.

-Volume Lashes: A full set of volume lashes, where multiple lightweight extensions are applied to each natural lash, may take slightly longer, ranging from 2.5-3 hours. Fills take around 1.5-2 hours.

  • Ideally, no makeup is the best makeup. But if you choose to wear makeup, these are my recommendations to help your lashes last longer.

    1. Use oil-free products. Oil-based products can break down the adhesive used for the eyelash extensions and reduce their longevity.

    2. Avoid Mascara:
If you choose to wear mascara, avoid waterproof mascara. Please only apply on the tips of the eyelash extensions. Applying mascara to the base will affect retention and create build-up, which creates a problem when placing new eyelash extensions at a fill appointment.

    3. Gentle Eye Makeup Removal: When removing eye makeup, use an oil-free makeup remover and gently use a Q-tip to remove makeup in the eye area.

    4. Avoid Eyeliner Application: If you use eyeliner, be careful during application. Gel and pencil eyeliners are preferred over liquid liners, as they are easier to remove without causing stress on the lashes.

  • It is recommended to wash your lashes once a day. It will keep your lashes free of oils and bacteria growth. If you do not wash them once a day, I suggest washing them at least every 2-3 days.

Going without washing your lashes will cause issues with retention and bacteria growth, which can lead to what is called Demodex, aka lash mites.

  • Yes. Eyelash extensions are safe to get wet in the shower-it is suggested to wash them daily. You can also swim with eyelash extensions. If you plan to be underwater for a long period, I recommend wearing goggles. The salt and chlorine will take a toll on your extensions. Once you are done with pool/swim time, wash your eyelash extensions with the lash shampoo that I provide you with at your appointment.

  • This answer specifically depends on the person. For most people, the answer is yes. I use a hypoallergenic glue that leaves people who have allergies or sensitivities free of reactions. However, I have had very few people who still have reacted to the hypoallergenic glue. For those people, it is best not to get eyelash extensions, and I recommend exploring the idea of a lash perm instead.

  • Eyelash extensions can be damaging if your lash artist is not using proper techniques. Lashes that are too heavy, or clusters (pre-made fans) have larger amount of adhesive and can cause your natural lash to break.

When selecting your lash artist, ask which techniques they used where they were certified. This will aid in maintainting healthy natural lashes and enjoying the benefits of extensions.
